The Spoken Word Café: The Spoken Word Cafe (recently featured in a The Voice Ledger) meets the 4th Saturday of every month at 7PM at the Fellowship. Admission is $5. We have a featured guest, delicious desserts, and open mic where we share our original work or the work of a favorite author. The Spoken Word is the place for people who love words, the place for people who love language and people who love stories! Open mic sign-up is at the door.

On June 28, Spoken Word will feature Karen Pillsworth, the storyteller laureate of Kingston. Pillsworth focuses on tales of bonding between women, and how it becomes an enriching and supporting part of their lives. We won't meet in July and August, then our Featured Guest for September is Nancy Willard, author and winner of many national awards.

Two Singing Groups invite new members: The Fellowship Singers rehearse Wednesday evenings 7:30-9:00pm, and Sunday mornings 9:30-10:20 am when they're part of the service, in the Main Meeting Room. Contact Helen Baldwin for more information. The Hymnbook Choir will meet on scheduled Sundays 9:30-10:20 in the Main Meeting Room to learn and rehearse songs from the hymnbok to perform that day during the service. Contact Kit Kassel, Barbara Kendall, and Lois Olsen for more information. The newsletter will

Backyard Picnic: The backyard committee welcomes everyone to stay after service on Sunday, June 15 (Father's Day) for pizza & salad in the back yard. As we celebrate Fathers in our lovely outdoor area with dappled shade, we invite you to check on the progress of the shrubs in our nursery (planted in our Earth Day party) and see how our back yard is slowly changing.

You can also view a slide show of pictures by clicking here!

We invite you to help more by taking home a bag of sticks to put into your home compost pile, or into your yard waste pickup (which occurs weekly if you're in the City of Poughkeepsie).

The Backyard Committee always welcomes anyone who'd like to join us. We can use your ideas. We also welcome your donations of large stones for pathways and borders, picnic tables, benches or garden chairs, or old newspapers. Contact Jane Bartik, Karen Lovequist, Judith Knauss, or Eleanor Harmantas for more information.

Please remember to save the tabs from your summer drinks For the collection jar at the UU Fellowship. Tabs go to Shriners Hospital for Children’s prosthesis, and can be left in the plastic container in the lobby. See Karl Volk for any questions.

Members Only Area: We've got the membership directory and a couple of other things in a password-protected area of the site, to keep automated programs from collecting all of our emails or phone numbers and spamming us. If you're a member, just ask one of our webmasters (Paula Greenspan and Bryan Cook) or our secretary and they'll be happy to give you the userid/password for accessing it.

Buildings & Grounds Workdays are second Saturdays from 9:00am to noon pm. It's always helpful to contact Richard Sudnik in advance so he knows how many jobs to prepare, but you're always welcome!

The Hospitality Committee needs YOUR help with coffee hour, as well as with keeping the kitchen supplied and clean. Please talk to Margie Watters.

Most of our Committees also welcome and cherish new ideas and new members. Please check the Committees Page to see what kinds of opportunities we've got.

New Peace Poles: Take a look in the front garden and you will see several small Peace Poles (peace stakes) surrounding our larger one. These were created by the Pre-K / Kindergarten class last spring.
