The Fellowship is set on nearly two acres of beautifully wooded and landscaped land in a lovely residential area of the City of Poughkeepsie. Some of the stately trees providing shade and colour are more than a hundred years old. For more information about the history of the property itself, click here.
Just outside the main door is The Peace Pole Plaza.
In back are a playground for our children, immediately behind the Fellowship's garage, a picnic area with picnic tables and benches for outdoor meals and table games, and sometimes even meetings!
On the back of the garage nearby is a mural of a tree that has member and friend hand-prints for leaves: it's a work in progress that is a visible symbol of our Fellowship "Family Tree."
This area has a full view of the playground. With monkey bars, a swingset, a sliding board and room to run around, the playground provides outdoor fun for children in an easily supervised environment.
At the southeast corner of our grounds is our
Labyrinth, which all are welcome to walk in meditation. Near the Labyrinth is a sign marking the beginning of the UU Memorial Trail which meanders from the Labyrinth area to the picnic area, and includes a bench and sculpture.
