    Join us for a family-friendly but all-ages engaging movie on Saturday, February 1 at 1:30pm. Bring a blanket and pillow if you like! Refreshments will be available.

    “Is the Union Worth Saving? Poughkeepsie and the Rise of Antislavery Sentiment"

    Please join us on Sunday, February 16 at 12:30 for the lastest in the UUFP Social Justice Committee's Peace and Justice Sustainability Film and Speaker Series: "Is the Union Worth Saving? Poughkeepsie and the Rise of Antislavery Sentiment," with special guest Peter Bunten. 


    On the eve of Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural address in 1861, a fiery antislavery sermon was delivered at the First Congregational Church in Poughkeepsie  This talk will explore the growth of antislavery sentiment within the Black and white communities of Poughkeepsie as the country headed toward the brink of Civil War.

     

    Peter Bunten is Executive Director of the Mid-Hudson Antislavery History Project (MHAHP), located in Dutchess County. He serves as Vice President of the Underground Railroad Consortium of New York State and is a Trustee of the Dutchess County Historical Society. He has a Master’s degree in Historical Studies,  from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is a native of Poughkeepsie.

    We are very excited to welcome the photographs of longtime Fellowship friend Carol Rosenbaum to the walls of the Main Meeting Room. Please join us for the opening reception on  Saturday, March 15 from 2-4pm to view Carol's works and chat with her.

  • MAY 18, 2025: WORLD BEE DAY

    Come visit the hive and have a meet-and-greet with the Queen Bee. Tell her your secrets and receive some bee wisdom.



  • JUNE 14, 2025: POUGHKEEPSIE PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL

    The Fellowship has been a proud participant in Poughkeepsie Pride events, both with a presence in the parade and with a booth at  the beautiful waterfront Waryas Park.
